CliffSprinkle IThe most popular question of normal kids is: "Where do babies come from?" Once asked, it would turn into awkward smiles, glances, stutters and more awkward smiles. For Cliff, the awkward question was: "Where do gypsies come from?"Some gypsy mothers would laugh at such a question. Of all questions, this? Why not the baby question? But it wasn't because the question was unique. It was because no one actually knew the answer. Some said the south, perhaps close to India. The music had Indian accords and the style of dancing had Indian moves.Other said a bit to the left of India, perhaps Egypt. But why Egypt, why Africa if they called themselves the Romani? Were they the last of the true Roman Empire or did the Roman Empire have gypsies as well? There were blood tests, history majors' headaches, and even more hypotheses to aid the question, but no one knew the exact answer.Or did they?No one answered the question to Cliff publically, but one day it disappeared. He asked no more.
